THE RIVERS GIVES TEAM REUNITES WITH LONGTIME PARTNER ALLEGHENY CLEANWAYS FOR ANNUAL RIVER CLEANUP
Volunteers from Rivers Casino Pittsburgh support riverbank beautification efforts along Ohio River
Pittsburgh — June 19, 2025 — Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s Rivers Gives volunteers are rolling up their sleeves for a day of environmental service today, teaming up with longtime community partner Allegheny CleanWays for an annual river cleanup.
From 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers will help remove debris, litter and recyclable materials from the Ohio River shoreline located behind the casino.
For more than 20 years, ACW has led award-winning cleanup and remediation programs throughout the region. ACW’s initiatives have removed millions of pounds of waste from local dumpsites and waterways — including more than 7.3 million pounds of debris, 190,000 pounds of metal and recyclables and 50,000 tires.
Their volunteer-powered programs include The Tireless Project, focused on water-based cleanups along Pittsburgh’s riverbanks; DumpBusters, which targets illegal dumping on land; and ongoing outreach initiatives to engage residents, schools and community partners in making Pittsburgh cleaner and greener.
“Rivers Casino is a dedicated partner in our environmental mission,” said Michelle Lawler, development director at ACW. “Their continued support and team participation have a direct impact on the health and beauty of our shared public spaces.”

Rivers Gives is the casino’s long-running community outreach program in which Team Members report to work at a local nonprofit instead of on the gaming floor.
Last month, Rivers Gives volunteers supported Manchester Bidwell Corp. by assisting with setup for the nonprofit’s annual Block Party — a family-friendly event featuring food, music and arts engagement on Pittsburgh’s North Side.
