RIVERS CASINO PITTSBURGH MAKES $4.7 MILLION PAYMENT TO THE SEA
$132.2 million paid to date toward construction of PPG Paints Arena
Pittsburgh — Oct. 1, 2026 — Rivers Casino Pittsburgh paid $4.7 million today toward the construction expense of PPG Paints Arena. The Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County (SEA) and the casino jointly announced that $132.2 million has been funded to date.
Rivers Casino contributes $7.5 million annually to the SEA for the arena’s construction debt financing, with installments occurring in October and April each year. The next installment will be paid on April 1, 2027.
By 2038, Rivers Casino will have contributed a total of $225 million per its agreement with the SEA for the arena’s construction, which was completed in 2010. Rivers Casino opened in August 2009.
“As the Pittsburgh Penguins’ 2026-27 schedule gets underway, we want to wish the team a great season ahead,” said Bud Green, general manager of Rivers Casino. “We’re proud to continue our support of the Pens’ home ice at PPG Paints Arena and to reinvest in Pittsburgh’s infrastructure.”
Rivers Casino generates approximately $160 million annually for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Allegheny County and Pittsburgh, including support for the city’s economic development and tourism fund.
