RIVERS CASINO PITTSBURGH MAKES $2.9 MILLION PAYMENT TO THE S.E.A.
$127.5 million paid to date toward construction of PPG Paints Arena
Pittsburgh — April 1, 2026 — Rivers Casino Pittsburgh paid $2.9 million today toward the construction expense of PPG Paints Arena. The Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County (SEA) and the casino jointly announced that $127.5 million has been funded to date.
Rivers Casino contributes $7.5 million annually to the SEA for the arena’s construction debt financing, with installments occurring in April and October each year. The next installment will be paid on Oct. 1, 2026.
By 2038, Rivers Casino will have contributed a total of $225 million per its agreement with the SEA for the arena’s construction, which was completed in 2010. Rivers Casino opened in August 2009.
“We’re proud to support the venue that the Pittsburgh Penguins call home and to play our part by reinvesting in the community,” said Bud Green, general manager of Rivers Casino. “Congratulations to the Penguins for their ongoing strong performance this season.”
Rivers Casino generates approximately $160 million annually for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Allegheny County and Pittsburgh, including the city’s economic development and tourism fund.
